I think it's because so many of them are oblivious to the world around them.

The best/worst is guys around here in Man Jose who let you in (top up), peer in and realize you're part of the sausage-set. They get so disappointed. . .

 

On a similar note, I've noticed that girls don't look over at a passing driver as much as men. I'm always curious who is driving when I'm coming up on a car(especially if I can tell it's going to be a girl), so I always look over. But girls don't seem to do look back. And it's not cause I'm hideously ugly (momma says I'm that most handsomest...). Usually any time I pass a car and check out the driver, it ends up being another dude trying to check out who's passing him. Always an awkward moment.

I totally notice this.
It angers them greatly to the point they're almost tailgating to NOT let you in.
WTF, its not like we're racing to the gas station or something. Sheesh.
