Who's the us that it didn't bother before? It's pretty much bothered me for the year or more that I've been posting in the Corner.

As for blaming people for having the wrong perception...why is someone else's misperception my fault? If anyone wants to wander in and ask questions we've always been more than happy to answer. Heck, many people from around the board have come to the Corner to ask S2000 and other automotive questions (as well as many other topics) because we've got quite a knowledge base in our little Corner of the world.

As for the theoretical question...I find random smilies (not ones appropriate to the conversation) to be bothersome whether it be an outsider or a "card carrying" ...

All that said, I think many have found that we are a very welcoming bunch. As many know, we recently held the first Corner Con in Las Vegas and pretty much anyone crazy enough to pony up airfare and hotel costs was welcome.

We aren't a particularly exclusive bunch...we just ask for a little respect. If we don't get respect we do have a slight tendency to browbeat people a little bit...

Thank you Sophia. I was going to say something but I didn't want to seem like a jackass.

Seriously, it gets on all of our nerves, so if and when any of you venture into the corner, its not all about useless smiley posting. We actually hold conversations, sometimes pointless and confusing, but hey.

See, for the people that post everyday, its a huge pain...especially when (and as rarely as this is ) important convos are going on in a thread and someone who has nothing to do with nothing will post a smiley.....its just unnedded, regardless of the intention...

Ive said my peace, and I know its bothered others, since many have gotten blocked by other members because of that.

Fair enough, I understand your point of view completely, I just think corner members have a little bias when it comes to whoring like that... if (enter prominent corner member here) did the same thing, I don't think anything would be said.. Not that there's anything wrong with it, that's basic instinct, but it can still get a little tiresome at the same time..
