LOL, I was having the same contemplation, then my gf bought me a PS3 for our anniversary, talk about kick ass. BTW, you might as well add GT5 prologue to your list.

 

i played teh 1st one year ago but never finished. is it one of the games that you need to play the 1st to understand, or each one a new story?

I was one of the few that got the PS3 80gb MGS4 combo pack from Amazon... absolutely LOVE the game, online multiplayer is "so-so" but still pretty entertaining for fans of MGS... But after 7 days I got to the beginning of Act 4 and the PS3 died!!!! Overheating problems... and of course Amazon is out of stock so I have to rely on Sony to repair the console.... >1 month turnaround... in the meanwhile, it's off to Walmart for a 40gb temporary replacement...

 

I got the game and I just finished Act 1. The game is ART!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the DATA-BASE.

 

Game is incredible, Act 4 is totally badass for all of us who have played through the entire series.

But seriously.. did anyone else get sick of hearing Snake cough and hack up a lung the last 1/2 of the game? Damn it got annoying.

 

I lk the fact that he smokes thru the whole game but while loading the acts the game tells you how bad is it and tell you not to be messy and put the cigarrates butts on an ashtray.

 

yes, during the briefing... totally annoying... and Otocon seemed none too concerned, either.

 

so far the game is great, awesome graphics..just need to get use to the controls

 

imma big fan of the series, since the first metal gear on nes.
