Default Michael Jackson is "Jacko"

Why does the media refer to Michael Jackson as Jacko? Does Jackson not fit on a newspaper cover? I've known some Jacksons in my life, I've never heard any of then called Jacko.

I always thought it was because it rhymes so nicely with "Whacko". "Whacko Jacko" sums up the guy's essence so nicely and has that certain headline-ish quality..., plus it's alot shorter than calling him something like "the eternally mutating pedophile", etc..

The man is talented and deserves the respect he should. Even when in reference to his music they reference him as Jacko. He sure wasn't Jacko back in the 80's when everyone was kissing his ass.

That the first person to Jackson's defense is nicknamed "oneboy2c" is both ironic and disturbing. Hey, I was aware of the guy in the 60's and loved his music for a while, but let's flash forward to the modern age and call a spade a spade at least.

Before you go criticizing someone, know who that someone is. As for the screenname thats all it is. I been using it for 10 plus years on different things. If i wanted to rip on peoples screennames I can do it all day long. I guess you can't give your 2 cents anymore without being ripped on this board.

One of the tabloids ran a headline calling him "Whacko Jacko" some years back relating to a story of some of his excentric behavior and the media ran with it. That is where the name came from. If memory serves it was one of the British tabloids.

I don't know if he is guilty of anything except being one wierd buckaroo, but I would not let my kids near him if I had any.

He is also extremely talented.

I just love how people assume gilt because of ignorance, and if anyone on this board knows Michael personally, let them speak. If not, STFU, all of you media-loving idiots.
