microsoft...didn't know they couldn't run their own server for their own email service... unix has always been stable though, just not end user friendly. But then again, some things shouldn't be easy.

Actually that story isn't fully accurate.
The majority of the backend / storage is still Solaris, the edge servers when I was there last were a mix of FreeBSD and Win2k / .NET servers.
When it was purchased it was all FreeBSD front end boxes and Solaris back.
Surprised the REG didn't check a little further
, also surprised anyone could understand what I wrote in the first place...
