Missionary?
I was talking to a female board member and she was telling me she just had an interview for a job.
as a joke, i was like..........what position? missionary?
anyway, this sparked a question.
why do they call guy on top, the missionary?
anyone care to explain?

I think it has to do with the fact that the female is prone, much like a missionary would be....
missionaries often went to less than civil areas in hopes of spreading faith and were often taken advantage of by the locals? And their prone and passive position became named?

Because the Missionaries used to get on top of a woman and the woman would say "oh g-d, oh g-d". Other people would hear this and think she was being converted, but the townswomen would say they were getting a job at the missionary.
