Obviously someone is dumb enough to fall for it.

I thought about sending an e-mail to the bidder, but I somewhat suspected he/she is in on it... to get the ball rolling. Both parties have only a few feedbacks - all from sellers.

I wanted to report to eBay, but I can't find the "report" button.

Just checked the auction is no longer valid. I guess eBay caught it or someone alarmed them.

Yeah, the seller tried to sneak it through by making it a one-day auction, but I am glad eBay took care of it.

they very well might need a "report to ebay" button... I wonder how many false's they'd get... but those guys are smart... they'd do something slick

If you guys like to know about the scam, here's how it works:

You bid around $600 - $800 to get on a list for a Sony 50" Plasma TV. After you send them the non-refundable payment, they will then send you a (bogus) order list of your position among those who are in line for the next TV. Supposedly when you finally get to the top of the list, you will then get your TV. Until then, all you'll get is a monthly update of the order list. They can not/will not give you an appox. time frame on when your turn will come up. You cannot get a refund by withdrawing yourself from the list.

So essentially, you pay them hundreds and they send you monthly lists.
