if that's the case, then they died doing something they loved

How can you say that, Mikey? They were raising an unwieldy metal antenna tower in close proximity to power lines.

It was a cheap way for his mother to speak to relatives in Jamaca.

Since the relaxation of the ham radio licensing rules any knob turner can buy a rig, plug it in and put up an antenna. It is becoming just like CB radio was in the Burt Reynolds/Canon Ball Run days.

A little bit on safety preparation could have saved that family.
