What is up with all the recent downtime and slowness?

Maybe if you donate to the community it might make it faster.

May be easier to donate if reliability (uptime) wasn't an issue for this guy. Looking at his S2ki Age, the recent downtimes must seem frequent to him/her.

I've been on this board a while and it has been fantastic. However, the last few weeks there's been some serious downtime issues going on.

I guess it's to S2ki's credit that I value this site so much to find any downtime unbearable.

upgrades and new server installs never go as planned.

I think the up Vs. down time ratio on this site is very good.

Does donating allow me to turn off ads?

I don't have an issue with the site in particular, but I stopped paying because I had soooooooo many problems with my gallery, it ticked me off something fierce.

The S2k folks seem to try very hard to keep the site running well and are generally very proactive in notifying the community of planned outtages. I can only imagine doing so with the large audience and numerous members pictures in the gallery can be a challenge at times.

Does the board go down? Yeah sure -- but far less than other boards with smaller audiences in my view. And few of those boards can touch the actual knowledgebase this board provides to both current and potential owners.

I know I would not want to see their hosting and bandwidth bill ...
