i wouldn't recommend the pistol grip alone, rather the tactical stock
as for the 500's they're bulletproof (no pun intended)
if you look hard enough you can probably find a bull pup kit for them i want one i just never had the time to look

I picked the 870 myself but there's nothing wrong with the 500. I'd say the 870 has better fit-n-finish. Remington sells a nifty combo-barrel package that saves some coin if you want both choked and rifled barrels.
I'll go out on a limb here and say I love my Benelli Supernova Tactical. I shot my friends 500 Mariner and my Benelli is much more refined. The pump action is like night and day between the two. I've put about 500 rounds through mine and it has performed flawlessly. If I were you I'd try to shoot a few different guns and see what you like best.

Not quite. That's a .700 Nitro Express. It's used to take down elephants and dinosaurs lol. The rounds cost around $100 each.
