The MOST offensive song I've EVER HEARD!
So by your argument, everytime someone says something offensive in the media we should just turn the other check? Ignore them and just let them be? Look at the janet jackson incident, look at the reprocussions that have been felt by the media. Many, many OUTRAGED viewers wrote to the tv stations and the result? The FCC is now enforcing fines for profanity/nudity...look at MTV on alot of "live" shows they broadcast with a 10 sec delay.....look at Howard Stern, ALOT of his affiliates have DROPPED his show....why? b/c people have had ENOUGH. So this is why I am writing. If you dont like it...then by your argument, ignore this thread!
P.S. I was not call YOU a coward, I was mearly stating that not standing up for what you believe in is cowardly.

Oh too funny
I should be ashamed of my love for the freedom of speech
Who are you to tell me how I should act or feel?
I'm not telling you!
It was funny to me and to many others as well
Just because someone is overly sensitive to the situation doesn't mean I lose my right to voice my opinion.
You don't like it you can change the channel, post to a forum or send an e-mail. No ones stopping you. So don't try to stop others.
Thanks for bring up Janet. Do you know how many people watched that clip over and over and over again. Not because they found it offensive but because this country romantisices violence while repressing sexuality and they love to look at TITS!. .Your 5 year old son/daughter isn't going to have nightmares about it. They probably forgot about it minutes after it happened, if they even noticed it at all.
If I'm offending you you're taking me too seriously or you need to chill out.
learn to read. learn the difference between a local morning show and a nationally televised event.
You still don't get it. The reason morning radio shows shock you is because they are trying to shock you. The best way to combat this is to not listen. Don't tell people all over the country they have to hear what these fools just said - that garners attention, and someone might like what they hear, and try to get the show in their town - not quite the outcome you are shooting for.
If you really want to put a stop to it, write a letter to the FCC. As a local resident, you have a say in the content of your broadcast airwaves. A community can force a broadcast license holder to change, as the license requires broadcasters to adhere to local standards. A national effort to educate everyone about a local show only helps the local show's exposure and ad sales, it does nothing to change thngs the way you like. So what if some guy in Ohio doesn't like what an NYC station broadcast? He isn't local to NYC, so the FCC can't really act on his complaints. They could have 1,000,000 signatures from offended parties in Florida, but as the station broadcasts in NYC, it means nothing. If you bring thousands of signatures of NYC locals who demand the FCC revoke the license of the station, action will happen, but otherwise, you are just being a tool.

Howards ratings are still very high so people havn't had enough or else they would stop listening.
People like looking at womens breast if not they would buy/watch porn!
No bodys had enough, the minority are tring to control the majority and in the end the majority wins! Hands down. Sirrus radio is already boosting gains in sales and once HS hits that airwave you can see the down fall of public radio waves much like few people actually watch free TV anymore.
I can see how some would think that was funny. Definitely tasteless and insensitive, but I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. There are always going to be idiots in this world...
I certainly wouldn't waste my time arguing about it in an Internet forum.

You are not offending me, I am just extremely irritated at the song. Although Howard sterns ratings are still high, many have jumped ship and there is a reason. And about janet jackson, let's take this to the extreme, lets say, there are tits and naked asses on every show, on every channel, all times of the day. Would you let your 5 year old watch it? My point in all of this, is that the MEDIA needs to take responsibility for what they do. And THAT my friend is the reason for this post. You and I can go back and forth about semantics but the bottom line is this: I have a right to post on this forum, to express my opinions, to LET OTHERS know about the offensive nature of that song, to help garner support in hopes that people will shoot an email to hot 97/FCC and/or make a concious decision to STOP LISTENING to them (Good idea about the FCC), and lastly, I really dont care weather or not you think I am a tool.
And F1s2000,
Dont be an idiot....if you have something to say, say it.
