For the motorcycle buffs...
is there an actual performance differnce between the honda cbr f4 600cc MY2000 and below and the 2001 cbr f4i??? i know that the 2001 has fuel injection, does that mean its faster? i want a yellow cbr!!!!
DJHohum-
can't remember if there is a difference in hp/torque for the two years. I know there were some changes to the chassis that will effect handling/performance favorably.
I also know that fuel injection will affect the throttle response of the bike. Typically, it is better with efi but there are times (i.e. triumph) when efi can screw this up.
IMO, you can't go wrong with either bike. I had a CBR600F3 smokin joe's that was an absolute blast. great fun, super reliable, and pretty damn comfy for a world class sport bike.
just be careful.

The Cycle World/Motorcyclist view is the latest F4i is "edgier." I guess that means faster but a little harder to deal with. They complain that the other recent Honda 600's were more universal and the new one is more pure sports. I dunno. I sat on an R6 and THAT position hurts. If I wanted a FAST 600 I'd look at the new GSXR.
The GSXR is the fastest 600 with 103hp the F4i has 95hp.
The F4i has a trunk
the F4 didn't

I just got an R6 and I could have got the F4i for a couple of hundred $$ less.
It is a matter of personal taste and I liked the R6 better.

Honda claims 10% more power w/ the F4i, but most mags haven't noticed a real difference in power, just sharper throttle response. Supposedly it's easier to modify for racing, though.
My F4 runs well, but feels noticeably softer than my old R6.
