Motorola Talkabouts for $29.95
If anyone is interested in purchasing a Motorola Talkabout T6310, Office Max has them for $29.95 each after rebates. This was one of the best radios that Motorola ever made in the Talkabout line and it has a built FM radio. It comes with ear buds that work with the 2-way and FM features.
$30 is really cheap and they are great for just about anything but they are especially useful for club drives. They are a must have. So if got a little extra money go out and get a pair.

The 6220s are also good for those that don't care about the FM radio and earbuds.
The two pack at Costco really are bottom of the line and don't have many features. One feature, VOX, is really nice when combined with the 53725 headset. VOX is voice activation which allows you to keep both hands on the wheel. The charger is nice if you use the radios at least once a week but if you don't the NiCd batteries begin to drain. After about 4 weeks of no use the batteries will be dead, not a nice thing when your on a drive. You can always buy some AA's if you need them when your out of power.
If you use AA alkalines they will stay "fresh" longer and still have some juice when you need them.

Do not waste your money on 0.5 watt FRS radios when you can get 2 watt GMRS for $55.00 for 2 radios.
When they list the 0.5 watt as a 2 mile radio , that is 2 miles across the water.
The 2 watt GMRS are the same size and are rated up to 5 miles.

We, in Arizona, found the VOX to be a problem always staying active when top down due to noise through the cabin. The push to talk headset I have works pretty well.
I agree the range is not the best on these, but it does the trick and too many of us already have the FRS two ways to upgrade. One group we know of has CB radios in each car with a removable antennae that fits behind the passenger seat.
