I saw the new Lynch movie Mulholland Drive this past weekend and I thought it was extremely well thought out. The only problem is that I haven't exactly decided what it was about, too many loose ends. I believe that it's Lynch's depiction of the Hollywood scene as a dream, or lynch's actual dreams about hollywood, put on screen. Does anyone know exactly what the point of the movie was? or any other interesting interpretations? I definitely need to watch it again.
The second version of the events was the real thing. The first two thirds was a "what if" scenario, like they were given a were given second chance. (Just it came first which made it confusing) The scene where they are watching the theater play was the judgement for their sins. The color Blue represents all that is magical, mysterious, and/or unexplained. And last but not least, the "Spanish" song, was really a translated version of Roy Orbison's "Crying" sung in a mere two octaves. Almost makes you want to cry. Listen to the song again and pay attention to the words. Its the cinch pin of the entire movie.
I bent a few brain cells figuring all of that out after watching the film. Hope that helps, and I really hope I didn't ruin the movie for anyone. Blue Rose all the way Baby!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read a review about it that piqued my interest: http://ae.dfw.com/entertainment/ui/dfw/mov...=10%2F24%2F2001

Jerry, i'm definitely gonna go see it again this weekend keeping all of that in mind. So you'er saying everything up until the magical box falls is a "what if" scenario, and then after the box falls it's back to what's really going on? That seems very true now that I think about it more. Thanks for the input! You must be one hell of a smart guy to figure that out by yourself.
