I was thinking about making one of these threads but it looks like there are quite a few of us here already . Guitar was my main hobby before I had the disposable income for cars. A helluva a lot cheaper too

Jackson Fusion HH. Cool mid 90's Japanese Jackson, 24.75in scale with a one piece mahogany body. Was originally an ugly trans red color but I refinished it with around 20 coats of teak oil:


Old LTD MV300-another short scale super strat. Thinking about selling this one and picking up something a little less metal.


Jackson COW7. Another Japanese Jackson, but with 7-strings. I might have been the first person to install a neck pickup on one these, which was kind of cool. I don't have a need for a 7-string anymore but this is easily the best guitar I've touched and I'd instantly regret parting with it. The guitar just resonates like a mother****er. Went to GC to help a friend buy a ukulele for her daughter. This is dangerous. Found this nice Concert sized Lanikai with Fishman piezo pickup and onboard pre-amp/EQ. It was crying for me to adopt it. You know just like those crazy midnight ads on cable for shelter dogs. The ones with eye boogers and all the sad faces.

Yup! Bought it. Now, for the little lady. "Honey, you won't believe what happened today on the way home from work..."

What's playing a Uke like? I've never tried it since playing rarely branches out from metal, but it always looks so fun. Hard to find someone not smiling when they're strumming one of those little guys

 

Pretty easy to play. You can tell by photo, light strings are on edge of fretboard. Heavier in middle. Gives the Uke that unique tone, when strumming chords.

 

I've been playing piano since the age of three, I am now just shy of thirty years old.
I have a Yamaha upright, but plan to have a baby grand Steinway within the year.

I've also been playing the violin since the age of ten and I stopped taking lessons at the age of eighteen but I still play, though not as much as the piano.

I also play the guitar a little, purchased a Taylor GS Mini, but as I'm still learning right now, it's a slow process (it doesn't transition from violin as much as I hoped it would)..

 

Love to see photos of that Steinway baby grand! Beautiful instruments, for sure. Needs nice a BIG room, though. Friend got this old Baldwin upright (like 1930's vintage). Very tall upper panel. It has to have one of the sweetest tones I've heard.

Maybe, try a Uke? Good ones are cheap. Easier to learn than a guitar (IMHO). Lots of good YT videos. Chords are all different than a guitar. But, the right-hand/left-hand thing is the same. I admire your violin skills. WAY TOO MUCH practice and lessons for this impatient person!
