We'll see how good it is considering 3/4 of IW is now gone. And if there's no PC love this time around, I most likely will not be purchasing.
Battlefield always has PC support. The BC series is console based.

Yeah, OK. You didn't play Bad Company because your mom caught you trying to buy it and she doesn't like war games. We get it. Telling people who choose to spend their money on console FPS games and prefer the Battlefield team and squad based play over CoD gameplay means you appreciate the same things they do. Well except for your choice to continue to engage in the constant hardware upgrade metagame. Calling BC games a "joke" makes you sound silly.

Ignoring the children, yeah Battlefield 3 will have my money. Call of Duty is kinda fun, but too claustrophobic and for every new gadget there is a serious limitation on where and how you can accomplish the objective. They are well made games, but if the multiplayer gameplay historically is not my bag, why buy the game? I prefer team-oriented gameplay a la Battlefield if I am playing with ten+ online players. CoD won't miss my money.

Bad company 2 was the worst purchase I've EVER made. Not only did it never run for more then an hour without crashing my computer, it was NEVER patched so it wouldn't hard freeze my computer. Nothing has ever done that to my comp, and believe me, it's well over the system requirements.

Outside that, BC2 was pathetic. Yesh, let's include bullet drop to make the game realistic, but then it requires 30+ rounds to kill someone at point blank. We won't zero the weapons at a decent distance, or give the player adjustable sites, but we're going to put in bullet drop. On top of that, were going to make the entire map destructible, but not put in fragmentation.....Unbelievable.

Blacks ops was no better, except that hardcore mode meant something. That game was entirely made for console gamers and had a speed ball feeling to it. At least mw2 was a little slower paced.

If you don't play the game, I'm not sure your input on the gameplay is really relevant. Taste varies, so the fact you weren't fond of a game you couldn't get working correctly is probably predictable.

BC2 has huge outdoor environments. Bullet drop is relevant only on really long shots, and several of the sniper rifles have mildots to make hold-over easy. But you have to sight the rifle in yourself - they use different ammunition with different ballistic characteristics. Bullet drop is not a significant issue with the rest of the weapons as their bullets will not do enough damage at extreme ranges to be effective anyway, and they are not accurate enough that far out to be consistent.

Many of the weapons will one-hit kill at point blank. All the shotguns, all the sniper rifles, and I think one of the pistols. Head shots with almost everything at point blank is an instant kill.

Combatants can choose to wear body armor, which depending on what you are shooting them with, can greatly reduce the damage they take. IOW, if you are using one of the weakest weapons in the game, it will take you significantly more shots to kill them than if they had no armor. Add in recoil and network lag and latency, and yes, it can be frustrating to unload on a guy only to be notified you have died. On the other hand, unless you are playing hardcore mode, you can see their health so you can tell how much damage you did. For every time you are sure you got gypped, someone else feels the same way about your kill.

Two gameplay aspects to BC2 - headshots count and you can punch a hole in a wall/collapse a building. Most games do not have both those features, much less either one. You can snipe from vast distances, but since the bullet drop mechanic means it takes actual skill to pull it off, not every schoolkid is going to be popping your melon from a mile away. And hiding in a corner inside a building is not a successful tactic more than once.

It's not a run&gun game. That's not the Battlefield selling point. It's more about working as a group, waiting and supporting teammates during assaults and staying close during defensive stands. Snipers can spot enemies for the team as well as carry shotguns - you can play as a scout or a sniper or anywhere in between. Classes are distinguished by a particular accessory and optional weapon type, not rigidly separated.

It is very easy for a newbie to die in BC2. The environments are so large that you won't always know where the shots are coming from, and it can be a major hike to an objective. That's why you spawn off a squad mate. When I first started BC2 it was nonstop "WTF." Now I appreciate and prefer the gameplay. You just learn to keep your head down, don't think you're going to be Rambo, and watch the map.

I always thought CoD games had better single player but the multiplayer was not my bag, being heavily man-vs.-army. While Battlefield, especially Bad Company, had a decent single player campaign (with actually quite good dialogue and plot, IMHO), but multiplayer was where the depth was, encouraging and rewarding you for team tactics on huge maps. It's personal preference, not a quality judgement.

This is my PC perspective(Don't own a console)...

For multiplayer I can see BF3 running the table on MW3 and for single player it could be the other way around. Even though the single player campaign on BF3 looks REALLY good. I currently play Bad Company 2 and didnt think highly about their single player campaign but for multiplayer is totally the opposite. For the Modern Warfare series the single player campaign is great and even the multiplayer is great but gets really boring after awhile. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying both games when they come out and I can't wait to play both single player and multiplayer
