I want to thank you for posting this story. I want to commend you for keeping your friend's memory alive. But most of all, I want to offer my condolences on your loss.
I've posted about this before, but I'll do it again. My fiance is from NYC. We were very, very lucky in that we did not lose any of her direct family to the cowardly attacks of 9-11. We were not so lucky in that we, like so many others around this country and the rest of the world, lost some friends and acquaintances.
I keep the hope alive that the pain will one day diminish. So far, it hasn't happened. I remain as sad, confused and angry today as I was more than two months ago.
I focus on the positive things. I focus on counting my blessings that my family is fine. I focus on how lucky we were that it wasn't worse for my family and circle of friends. I make sure I continue to tell my family/friends how I feel about them. In short, I appreciate life and it's gifts a bit more.
I hope that you and this young lady's families are able to do this as well.
We share your grief. We mourn with you. Let's hope that together we can keep the positive memories alive and ease the pain of going forward.
