My M3 is ordered!!!
Cool!
You're going to love it, but one question : how long do you think you're going to keep your driving license after getting that beast?
I'm saying that because :
a/I've driven it twice : once during a press day, on a closed hill climb, and another time during 24hrs, in and outside of london, and....this car requires A LOT of self control to not push the throttle like a maniac. It's FAST!!! Basically it changes your perception of time and distance. One moment you're here, the next one you're at the other end of the street. In between - just a quick blur.
b/traffic laws in the US are very restrictive and strongly enforced
I had the red-red too, quite flashy but nice!
have fun...

) on the highway. Whereas the M3 just jumps from redlights and cruises silently (well... almost) at 240 on the highway.By the way - apart from the feeling of being in a saloon rather than in a sports car - the only thing that I didn't like was the sound : a very annoying "metallic" roar IMO
Must be a hell'va car for that price! We see a lot more John Deere's around here than Bimmer's, so I kinda lose track of what the hot one is one is for the month. Love the way they just keep inching up the bar. It started way back with the 2002 (model, not year), then the 2002T, then 2002Ti, 2002Tii... and after a while I quite counting.
I was wondering with all the references to it on this site (Evo M3, E36 M3, etc.. . . were talking about the same car I looked up at a BMW site. I was aware it comes in a top down version but everyone was always talking about coupes. Probably the extra $8k keeps it out of reach for some of the middle class poor.
Enjoy. I'll just tell myself I wouldn't like it because of all the gagets.
Wow Loki - that's totally awesome! Yeah, I've been wanting an
M3 for a long time now as well (with the SMGII option!), but I couldn't wait any longer and got the S2000 instead. Definitely would like to hear your opinions on the SMG once you get your new baby. Grats!
