My wife and I just got a dog, our first,
since we got married.

He is a Akita/Bull mastiff mix-haha. We
found him at the pound and just kinda
bonded. He is male, 1 yr old and about
85lbs.

We can definitely see the two breeds in
him. Mastiff cranium and ears, Akita/shepardish
snout, nice red/brown Akita coat, muscular
but smallish mastiff body and a curly
Akita tail. Very quiet, little barking, lots of
grunts and stuff. We already taught him
a few commands. Very bright and probably
pretty stubborn. His head is still a little big for
his body so I'm figuring he will probably add
another 30-40 lbs. Already got the harness for the
sled.

He seems to really like people and has no dominance
issues with us, but I don't think he is going to get
along with the neighbors Chow very well.

I believe he is going to make a good watchdog
since he is already "guarding the house" .

Anyway, I'm having a problem coming up with a good
name. When I was a kid, living at home, I came up with
kewl names like "Conan" (our 225lbs English Mastiff) and
"Bizarre" (our Belgian Shepard) but I'm stuck right now.

Considering some Greco-Roman names: "Betto", "Burrus"
"Echo" or "Io". Trombenik is also under consideration but my
parents already are already using it.

What do ya think? Give me some I ideas!

As big and strong as he might get, I'd suggest calling him "Sir."
