Default my word is...?

<begin rant>

i've been around the community pretty much since the beginning, and i've seen just about all there is to see in terms of discussion (off-topic being the exception ) on our cars, and i've done my shares of testing and development for our cars, spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours so others don't have to. why is it that every single time i post something positive about a product i'm excited about people question my honesty? why is it that nobody say shit when a JDM company (i can name a few) claim to gain XXX amount of power and it's treated like gospel without independent testing? and what's up with people looking for peak power gains anyway? tuning is about the entire power band for crying out loud, not one point in the RPM range. even when we *do* perform our testing, somebody will still want to take a pot shot at it. from my prototype intake to all the parts i've tested on my car (6 different exhausts, 3 different types of intakes and more to come), i've always been pretty straight forward about how each performed in my own eyes. if i said the shit is made with mandrel bent piping, it won't be crush bent. if i said the filter works well, it won't lose you power. my word is my credibility, and how long do you think i'd last if i wasn't being truthful about what i do?

<end rant>

Amen brother.

Even though I'm not a customer, I appreciate your honesty and candor about the products you choose to sell, or not to sell. It's pretty well known (at least I think it is) that you're not making a killing off the stuff, and thus don't have an incentive to be deceitful about your findings.

It's virtually impossible to test everything out there, so you'll always find people who are convinced what they have is the best, and SOME companies aren't above a bit of misleading. Dynos can be easily doctored, etc.

Some of us appreciate you Ming!

Rich, in the last two years you have given me no reason to think that you were not 100% trustworthy. You've never let me down, if you say it I believe I can bank on it.

Some people question everything and no doubt at some time they've believed someone and gotten burned. Don't let it bother you, it's just part of their personality.

Hang in there buddy, you're doing all of us a great service.

Rich you know how I feel about honesty

As far as I'm concerned, one bad word is more influential than 100 good ones. If there is even a cast of doubt, it makes people think twice when parting with funds.

You're honest in my book and I don't see where you've laid a line of BS and knew it

Yo ming - don't beat yourself up! (let the uneducated consumer do that! )
People are skeptical by nature, and when someone offers a good product at a good price it is our skeptical nature to think they are lying sacks of, well you know what. Just because people doubt your intentions or your products value, do not believe we ALL suspect you are promising more than you can deliver. Some people just take more convincing than others. I know for myself I respond much better to "yes" the second or third time I have asked the same question. It is not out of disrespect it is just based upon so many sales people are full of, well you know what that a good consumer must ask the same question three times to see if they can at least get the same answer twice.

i have never said anything bad about you or your products but to give a possible explaination or reason why this might happen. the JDM companies have the brand name with them? perhaps this is why people trust them blindly...sorta like sony TVs i don't have to see one for myself to know it's good but if someone mentions XYZs brand i would want to know everything about it

Rich,

Some people just look for any reason to whine. You can't please them all. Those of us that know you and/or have done business with you don't have any doubts about your credibility and ethics.

Hey Richard,

The people that know you and have done business with you know that you put out products of the highest quality and that you are an honest and fair man. You're always going to have people that will doubt your claims. Don't let it get to you personally.
