PS - Im not racist, theres a huge difference between a n*gger and a black person..
The problem is you don't seem to use it that way but rather in a racist connotation.
Also the rest of the world doesn't seem to understand as anything other than a racist term so best not to use it unless you are a racist.
If that is the case best not to use it in this forum because we really don't want that kind of discussion.
I wear my Maui Jim's in the morning train, but only because I want to catch some shut-eyes w/o looking goofy.
I think I can justify the players wearing sunglasses indoor, esp. while they are being interviewed or as they enter the stadium/ball park facility. Reporters point cameras w/ uber-bright flood lights at the players to capture decent pictures indoor. There were instances where a camera would shoot from the player's back side and I could see all the other cameras flashes and flood lights that the player were facing. Even though I was only seeing them through the TV, I thought I was going blind!

Personally, I think the rule is hilarious. I've been a huge fan of the NBA for as long as I can remember and have never really noticed or cared what some guy on the bench is wearing. It's an ironic day when guys show up to work in business suits and then get into shorts and jerseys to actually do their jobs. Hell, the dress code makes players dress more formally than most people working 9-5 corporate jobs.
Yes, some players do show up to games looking a little silly. But I'm busy watching the guys on the court, not the ones sitting off of it doing nothing. If the NBA wants a completely professional appearance, then perhaps it ought to consider a dress code for fans, too. I don't see the point of having neatly-dressed players when you have fans attending games looking like bums.
I should add that I am a lover of all that is hip hop and ghetto.
It may or may not be a good thing that the NBA's core fans are now largely the so-called "ghetto" folks. But that's reality. When a certain segment of people are giving you money, you'd do best to appeal to them. Rich "non-ghetto" folks are likely the ones buying tickets and watching games on TV, but I'd wager they aren't the ones snapping up jerseys, apparel, shoes, and other merchandise, which is where most professional sports leagues make most of their money. I think the rule is unnecessary and could potentially hurt business.
Now I have done my job and provided a dissenting viewpoint to flame.

The league and teams make money by selling advertising on TV games and by ticket revenue (not sure, but I suspect about 2/3 of it is from their TV deals). If people aren't watching, they can't sell advertising at high enough rates (this is what happened to the NHL). Apparel sales contribute, but people won't stop buying AI jerseys because he has to wear a suit to work.
It is in the NBA's interest to maximize the number of viewers and attendees at games (ideally every game a sellout); not to aid the players' "lifestyle".

I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
Watch you live and breathe your storylines
(And) I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes
While she's deceiving me
It cuts my security (has)
She got control of me
I turn to her and say
Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades, oh no
I can't believe it
You got it made with the guy in shades, oh no
(And) I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
Forget my name while you collect your claim
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can so I can
See the light that's right before my eyes
While she's deceiving me
She cuts my security (has)
She got control of me
I turn to her and say
Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades, oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades, oh no
I can't believe it!
Don't be afraid of the guy in shades, oh no
It can't escape you
'Cause you got it made with the guy in shades, oh no
I said I wear my sunglasses
I wear my sunglasses at night
Wear my sunglasses at night
I think i saw an interview where some player said, if they have a dress code, they should be provided with a stipend for new clothes...
Oh and about sunglasses indoors, i used to wear em all the time indoors. Its a pain in the butt to swap prescription glasses and sunglasses, so i just left em on when i went inside a store for an errand.
