Need interesting auto advice...
I have an odd request...
I'm building a street legal trike, and i need a rear end. I would like to get one from a junk yard, but i'm unsure of what to take it off of...
If anyone can rack their brain and use their automotive background/history/knowledge...
What cars from the 80's to 90's had...
solid rear end (leaf or coil sprung)
small axle 5-7" axle
disc brakes (drums will be ok too...)
Any to make matters worse, a rear end ratio between 2.50 and 3.00 would be good as well...
I'll take any advise i can!
Thanks kindly,

are not most trikes built off of VW bug rear ends and engines for the most part?
any RR car should offer a good starting point

I thought they were more like Front drive cars with the diff basically built into the tranny itself.

open or the ability to use a posi? I have seen some guys with big inch trikes running a Dana 30. Those won't break and can be found on some Cherokees. Be careful because most Cherokees have the Chrysler 8 1/4 rear. Have you thought of maybe an early celica? It's a solid axle, small and Toyota made.
