i heard bad things about sprint
Ask folks you live and work around you, they will be able to provide more accurate assessments of carrier coverage in your area. All we can do is give you generalisms ... T-mobile has a limited network, AT&T has billing problems, Verizon has either great or terrible coverage, Sprint has bad customer service and handsets ....
cell phones... your just phucked no matter.
if you use internet data (gprs) on your cell t-mobile has an advantage.
t-mobile one month deicded to sms my phone several hundred times at $0.05 each. a form of sms is used to update the phone software and should be transparent to the user. this added about $20 to my bill and they initially refusted to remove the charges. fun... took quite a few phone calls to get it removed

No cell phone here....If I were to get one, I want one without a video screen, without textmessaging, without video games. I want a basic telephone no extra crap, and it needs to work in my house...so far none have, we have to go outside to make calls. The house is cement block construction covered in stone.

I live in south OC and back aroun 6-7 years ago I had Sprint. The reception was terrible and they kept messing up my bill. Worst two year contract I have ever been in! Im not sure how they are now but that one experience is enough to not make me want to try it again. Every month I had to call in and correct my bill.
I have been with Cingular since and have been VERY happy with the service. With in the last month I switched over to T-Mobile, I saved $20 a month on my bill and still get the same reception. The customer server is also great.

i have sprint and can't complain. bills are always right and I can always use the phone. The negative is the customer service reps' knowledge.
I have a Treo 650 (the maybach of cell phones IMO) with just about every feature known (including FREE video capability, not the movie clips they charge for) including camera/video cam, full internet, real email, and great media player.
The reps know NOTHING about one of their most expensive phones and nothing about mobile data.
The biggest advantages with Sprint:
-unlimited (to an extent, host a forum and you'll be emptying your wallet) data
-Phone insurance plan. For like $5 a month, your phone is insured. This doesn't mean much on those crap "free" phones but it does when it is $600.
one thing sprint does is disable Bluetooth networking so you can't use a laptop on their network. Too bad there is a hack available for my phone that turns it on!
