Need some advice on Palm Pilots or similar
The time has come where I think I need(want) a palm top or similar computing device and I realise I know nothing about them.
My needs are:
oPersonal Information Management, Scheduling etc.
oInternet Access with Web Browsing & Email.
oInterface to my PIM software.
oAbility to FTP files to and from my client's servers (which of course would necessitate some modicum of storage)
I have a Nokia 8810 cellphone with IR ports (i.e no cable).
I'd be happy to hear the experiences of any of you guys that use one all the time. Is there a solution for me?

Muz, all the new palms/handsprings have the expandibility options so go for one of those. I have a Handspring Prism myself and love it. It sure is alot easier than carrying my laptop everywhere. I am able to download/upload docs that i know will be necessary for a given client. A coworker who does a lot of presentations has the module which allows him to plug directly into a projectors. You can add memory as needed with the additional modules.

I believe any palm greater than the V with a built in antenna for internet will suit your needs.
But, my freinds tell me that the wireless palm service is quite expensive.

Palm V's can be clipped with an OmniSky modem - wireless, and in the states, its 40 bucks a month for UNLIMITED access. Yes, quite expensive, but it works very well. I only have a V myself, not even a Vx, but a few friends that have V's and Vx's say the OmniSky is the way to go.
I'd also suggest looking into the Visor PDA's. Those are quite nice. Elistan has a clip-on GPS - I haven't toyed with it yet, but from what I saw at glance, looks very sweet. I dig Handspring's initiatives to have clip on's / modules for their PDA's.
People will suggest - "get a Windows CE" device. Sure it looks great, but reliability? Its not as simplified and stable as the Palm OS.
/my two cents
