I expect this kind of stupid from N korea but China? Seriously?
A few days ago, China Central Television showed footage of what they claimed was an air force training exercise conducted on January 23. From the looks of things, they were actually just playing clips from Top Gun.
The clips in question were reportedly aired during the News Broadcast program on China Central Television, the major state television broadcast company. They supposedly showed a J-10 fighter firing a missile at another aircraft during a practice exercise.
But an internet commenter quickly pointed out that the aircraft the J-10 was shown shooting down was an F-5, an American aircraft, and the very one Tom Cruise guns down in a scene from Top Gun. Comparing frames from the CCTV broadcast (left) and Top Gun (right), well, they're lookin' pretty much identical.
Did China Try To Pass Off Top Gun As Air Force Footage?
So that's amusing. There's no word yet on whether or not the Chinese fighter pilots engaged in any beach volleyball after the exercises. [MiniTofu via Geekosystem]

I hope this is some kind of joke. I don't even want to know that there are a billion+ people in one nation alone who are naive enough to fall for such crap, even if it is fed to them by their oppressive government!
No no...its just a Chinese movie called Gop Tun. Has nothing to do with your silly American movie.
Hiiii Wray to da Danega Zoonn!

the Chinese type J-10 named the Chengdu-10 is already an aircraft in their fleet, but that is insane trying to pawn that stuff off as their own footage...clearly its from gop tun lulz...you've rost rat ruvin feering, row row row row
now, the big hype worldwide is the prototype J-20 "Black Eagle" stealth fighter...it is a real, functioning aircraft with resemblances to the US F22 Raptor and F35 Joint Strike Fighter with an X-Wing type design...back in 1999 in Kosovo, an F111 Aardvark was shot down and it is reported that China has the technology from that aircraft...now granted the US military has come a long, long way in terms of stealth aircraft technology and electronics since then, but still...its our shit...one major difference in the J-20 compared to our current "stealth fighters" is their lack of "masking" or the Radar Cross Section in the rear of the fighter jet...the J-20 shares the same characteristics as the US F/A-18 Hornet family which has the rear of the turbine engines on the outside of the airframe, whereas on the F22 Raptor, F117 Nighthawk and B2 Spirit which has it integrated into the airframe reducing the radar signature
