Default Neighbor Issues

Just wondering if anyone knew whats the best way to figure this out. My next door neighbor at my rental property has a HUGE tree that is growing over my house now. This is their summer home so they barely do anything to keep it up and honestly I couldn't be happier if they sold and someone would really renovate the property.

That being said they have this massive tree on the border of their yard that is now growing over my house substantially, dropping leaves and all the crap onto my roof. I put in gutter guards last year (worth every penny let me tell you) so thats not the issue, I just don't want branches over my house, especially since they are not mine.

I know I could trim them back or hire someone to do it most likely since they are so high, but is there any way for me to get them to pay for the removal, tree guys are very expensive...

I met the people once, not very friendly and they are never there except for sporatic weekends during the summer. Anyone know my legal rights, if I have any???

You can't get them to pay for it but you can cut whats on you side down however if you cut it in such a way as to purposely kill the tree you could be the one getting sued for the value of the tree.

This is just a myth. Copper is necessary for a tree not to have split bark. It is also a basic ingredient in most fungicides.

just burn it down and put some chop marks on his side of the fence so it falls on his house!
