Another nugget about Bayer....

Bayer manufactured the gas that was used by the Nazis in WWII.

So if we continue the logic that Mercedes and VW were key to the war effort we shouldn't buy

Mercedes
VW
Dodge
Chrysler
Hyundai
Kia
Jeep
Maybach
Porsche
Audi
Bently
Buggatti
Lamborghini

as all companies are interrelated. Also any Swiss financial holding should also be discarded.

On a more recent note we should buy from major polluters. So a partial list would be

Anything US made as we are the #1 in global warming
dentists are a major source of pollution as they flush old mecury fillings down the drain

or just follow the link to see who is messing up the environment and we shouldn't buy from

Welcome to the greedy ways of pharmacuetical companies. One day people will look back at this age of corrupt big business and say WOW (if we survive ourselves). These companies don't want to cure a single disease, just get rid of the side effects and have you on drugs for the rest of your sad life while they turn HUGE profits. This HIV story is just sickening really.

If say pfizer stumbled upon an absolute cure for liver cancer, they would market it in an instant since the alternative is less revenue.

Treating the "symptoms" of liver cancer is a short lived profit.

While there is some truth that the treatment is more profitable than a cure, its not that way in all cases.

Unfortunatly there is more of an incentive treating things we wouldn't call a condition right now.

Basically lifestyle improvements, ED, nail fungus, "overactive bladder".

The feeling like you have to go when you really don't so lets surpess it.

These "conditions" where just ignored before now they are all over the place and the most safe and profitable areas.

Finding a cure for cancer is way too hard, while some companies are actually making huge strided in that direction and great treatments are being explored the cost is just too high! Imaging spending $1B on finding a cure an knowing that your patent is going to run out in 5-10 years after doing so.

First of all, hate to break it to you, but A LOT of people dont buy German cars for that reason. I am not one of them. However, it was still a car. It wasnt used directly in killing people.

i agree that it is naive to boycott a company for doing something wrong in the past to a certain extent. for example we should no more boycott these companies than we should boycott buying US made cotton because thier industry was built upon slave labor. i do think that the actions that some of these companies commited is horrible but there are things that are happening in OUR lives that should be dealt with rather than dwelling on something that we are 50 plus years too late to fix. we should learn from this and try to fix the present.
