Now if they could just sell a pickup I could get rid of my Nissan!

LOL... It's a lot better than a beater! The gear shift is identical to the S2000 and that thing really moves.... 0-60 in 6.4 seconds. with the i VTEC engine.... loads of fun!

They are making a truck. With a V-8 no less. The next MDX will be based on this truck

It's very, very impressive all round. It has a tendency to torque steer as you would expect, but other than that the steering is very positive and direct, little body roll in corners. The brakes are excellent. In many respects it's much like the S2000 with vtec and an identical gear shift. What seemed strange was extracting all that peformance from such a relatively high seating position. There's also an awful lot of glass so it's a bit like driving a greenhouse but visibility all round is excellent. The thing I missed most during the test drive was the digital speedo. The civic has very sporty, white conventional analogue ones. I was very conscious of having to look down and relate the needles to the numbers. The S2000 display is just perfect for me!

When the time comes to change it will likely be another S2000, but if I decide to go for something more practical, with better all weather abilities, and which doesn't sacriifice too much in the fun dept, I wont be looking much further than the Civic Type R as the market stands at present.
