While traveling to NYC on Saturday, I found myself in the EZ-Pass lane
accidently when exiting the NJ Turpike at the Lincon Tunnel. I tried to
back up, but oncoming traffic blocked me. My only option left was to
drive through the toll, which I did.

My question: Will the state of NJ take any action against me?

they will hunt you down and castrate you. Your testicles will then be put on public display as a warning to all other who fail to use the proper toll lane.


Sometimes the booths have cameras, sometimes they don't.

 

Don't worry about it if they got your tag the fine will be small. One time on the Atlantic City Expressway in my work truck i somehow lost my ticket, when i got to the toll booth to pay since i had no ticket i had to pay like $15 or something i forget, since i only had $5 on me i tried to reason with the lady but she wouldn't buy it, i offered her 2 bags of cement and shovel that i had in the back of my truck to let me go , but she said they don't except bribes, i told her i was late to work and to take down my tag and send me a bill in the mail as i took off in a rage. I never got pulled over and never got a fine in the mail , this happened about 2 years ago. I consider myself extremely lucky

 

who said anything about bribes...I call that a barter attempt

 

EZ Pass takes a picture of your plate, gets your address from your plate, and sends you a fine for $25 plus the price of the toll. If you have a friend that has EZ Pass, get their name, account number, and tag number and you'll find a spot where you can enter them. You don't pay the fine, your friend only pays the toll. So pay him the toll and you are good. Hope this helps.

Like Eric said , they take a picture if your car and send you a ticket.. I think it is $25..

But there was this one story of some dude :

A guy drives thru an ez-pass lane with out it.. He gets the ticket in the mail with a picture of his car .. So he sends them back a picture of money.. A few weeks go by and he thinks he is in the clear.. Until he gets another envelope with another picture , of handcuffs..............

Just an Urban Legend that has been floating around here...

 

Yup $25 plus the toll at least that was what it was last year.
