is anyone else utterly disappointed with the new trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots they've released for download from the PlaystationStore? those graphics were definitely PS2 quality. also, it was NOT HD. it says it's HD but ummmm...no. it's also weird how some objects are very low-res while some others are higher-res. do you guys think Kojima is up to something? i was just disappointed overall by the trailer. the ones they released previously online were WAY better, and impressed me far more.

IDK how many people have PS3's AND are fans of the Metal Gear franchise on here, hence the lack of response. I think I saw something on G4 about it during E3, thought it looked good to me. Anyways, I'll probably have to shell out a couple hundred bucks for a PS3 once all the titles I truly want are out (MGS4, GT5, GTA4, etc.)


Oh, and considering how great the other Metal Gear Solids were for their respective platforms, I'm not concerned about this new one. They always get it right at Konami, if you ask me.

 

I know everybody is hyped for this game, but me; not so much. It's just another uber Japanese game with endless, obtuse cut scenes, intermixed with the occasional moment of game play.

If that weren't enough, the plots are full of insipid, shopworn pacifist bs.

 

i loved this series not becuase it's japanese (and therefore inherently cool lol). i fell in love with this series before i knew anything about its creator and what not. no other game got me so IN to the story. games like resident evil, final fantasy, splinter cell, never got me in to the story at all. i wasn't IN the game. i played it and knew what was going on, but i didn't feel totally immersed. metal gear solid's visual style, sound, gameplay elements, story, sense of humor--everything about it really, just got me so IN to the game. i'd just get this undescribable feeling when playing...i dunno maybe i'm crazy. maybe you should give the series another try

 

they DO always get it right at Konami. but when i see the new trailers i just get disappointed because i expected more from Kojima. maybe i'm being too critical...


either way, it will be a @#$%ing awesome game. even if i think the graphics could be better
