Why would someone buy a $300,000 Celica? I mean 500HP and 375 ft/lbs. is great and all, but... uuuuummmmm.... am I the only one who thinks this is retarded?

Nice, but for $300,000? I don't think so. For that, I'd expect Millen's 900 hp Celica that he drives at Pikes Peak!
