Default a new Section 8 story

I got a notice from Section 8 that my tenant had reported that she was paying her sister $549 / month for child care........ But... her sister reported that her address was also my house for her welfare / food stamps...

My guess is that the one sister reports the $549/mo as income so she will qualify for the "EIC" (you have to have some earned income to get the credit) to get more Federal Tax $ back....... then my tenant probably claimed that amount on her tax return as an expense so she could get the "dependant child care credit"......win / win

Now my 3 bedroom house is apparently the home of 2 families for sure but I am pretty sure the parents of my tentant also live there (they are always on the front porch just sitting there when i drive past)... so that would be about 8 idiots in one normal sized 3 bedroom house.

What a bunch of ****ing assholes. We all contribute tax $ so these ****heads can totally work the system.

In all seriousness, people who do things like that aggravate me to no end.

do something about it.. I hate people that blatantly work the system that badly. My neighbor's kids were getting free lunch at school (available to those with income below a certain #.. what # I don't know).. while living in a $550k house, driving a benz and a lexus and buying his kids new toys all the time (trampoline, go-kart, etc).

the problem is that I would probably have to kick everyone of my tenants out.

The one I mentioned above got a notice that she is getting kicked out by section 8.... so we'll see if she fights it and wins.

Almost everyone of them has a live in (for free) boyfriend, etc......

Welfare isn't enough to live off of so typically many people will live together to pool enough money to survive.

So the EITC loophole has finally become common knowledge. I learned about this in economics class. You have to earn income to qualify for the credit. In theory, two people could not be employed but claim to pay each other 8k or so a year to clean the house. By claiming to pay each other the same amount, no money changes hand except on paper, so they each get the credit without earning a cent. This was just a theory. The people that do this stuff are intelligent enough that they could earn a decent living if they would just apply themselves honestly instead of finding ways to cheat.

I work at a daycare. I witnessed, years ago, a potential client say, "Let me go and see if the state will pay for my kid's daycare"...as she got into her brand new G35 coupe. There are some parents who DO care, and use the system as it was intended. Sadly, they are few and far between.

i had wondered about this due to many of my tenants having "day cares" where they watch 1 kid.... so most of them are legit..... but apparently this lady and her sister totally worked it.

and ya, if they would put that same effort into something useful they could maybe get somewhere in life...... blaaaa
