Look at you people, all proud showing off and flashing your oh so fancy and expensive shoes around, along with your selfishness and lack of compassion. I detest these kinds of people.
so why didnt you buy a kia instead of your s2k and donate the rest to a organization that feeds the hungary orphaned african children?

"omg look at you, so materialistic buying a car like an s2k"

plz... i hope you weren't serious in your first post.

Because I'm in that mood. Plus, I don't like it when people spend so much on something so insignificant while young children elsewhere are so hungry they'd eat sand and dirt just to fill their stomachs. I do what I can to help out. Each month, the children's charities (in my sig) automatically withdraw $100/each from my bank, and it's been like that for many many years. It's not going to cure all hunger for the whole world but it helps in part.

Each time I thought to myself: "Should I put out $50 to buy membership on this site?" Then I'd think: "Nah. I'd rather save that money towards the children's charities. This site doesn't need my money, it's very well off as it is. The children, on the other hand, do."

Well, I can't sacrifice everything in my life to try to change hunger, can I? But I do what I can. Cars and houses are different than insignificant stuff, such as shoes. People who spend so much on such insignificant stuff are usually selfish individuals, if my personal observation is correct.

What people do with their money is there right, and their Prerogative.

Insignificant is an opinionated term. What you view as insignificant may not be insignificant in other people's views. If a person has to tour factories or plants all day in business attire and on his feet for the majority of the workday, how would shoes be an insignificant thing, he is on his feet more than he's in his car so the car would be less significant than the shoes am I right? Maybe its excessively self-indulging to buy these things at your income level because you might have to sacrifice some place in your budget elseware, but if someone is in a higher income bracket than you then its not as unreasonable to spend 300$ for a good set of shoes that will last them years. This is exactly the mentality I'm sure many people with lesser incomes than you think about you and the kind of car you drive. It's a form of jealously really, if people can afford 300$ shoes and still contribute to charity/non-profit org's, then who are you to call them selfish other than to satiate yourself?

Amen!

I'm not exactly well off, but I make an honest living. From time to time, I feel as if I should treat myself for all the hard work I do. I'm sure some other members might be the same way.
