New Thrice Album - Beggars
I remember some people talking about Thrice in a thread not too long ago, so I know there are some fans on here.
Anybody get the new album yet? Its pretty much what I expected, which is very good, but i wasnt blown away like I had been with their previous efforts, barring the alchemy index. Still, the more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. Riley is insane on the drums on this one.
Anyone else have any impressions?

I love all the albums, you have their classic sound and then since vheissu they continue to advance their style, i have not heard the new album but been kind of busy. Going to do that this week.
I agree. Ive been a fan since Identity Crisis and have enjoyed watching them evolve. Im sure theres lots of people out there who wish they would just make more albums that sound like the Illusion of Safety over and over, and I guess im somewhat guilty of that, but I do understand a bands need to progress musically, and this is one band that hasn't disappointed me in doing so. Can't say that for alot of bands.

I found the leaked version, and I've been listening to it for the past few weeks....
that being said, it does take a few listens for it to sink in. a major departure from alchemy index.
its nice that they pumped some adrenaline into their sound.
circles is fawking amazing.
but I think they're starting to sound like mars volta

Is this the album where a lot of the songs are about greek mythology? My all time favorite albums are the artist in the ambulance and identity crisis. But forget Thrice, it's all about Underoath!!! all time favorite band FO SHO
Ohh... Thanks for the info... I'm gonna have to check it out, actually I'm gonna have to go back through and listen to all of their stuff. I have "The Artist in the Ambulance" and love listening to that cd on my ipod when snowboarding, it will be good to add some new stuff

I'm actually more of a fan of The Almost.

I love Thrice's older stuff(Identity Crisis, Illusion of Safety, and Artist in the Ambulance), but I stopped listening to them after that. Is the new album anything like the older stuff, or is it like Vheissu and the Alchemy Index?
Definitely more like their later stuff, but I dont think that should stop you from giving it a listen. You almost have to view them as two separate bands, because their sound is so different, yet somehow you still know its them.
