Default New TMI steam generators....

these are traveling from Maryland to the the TMI nuc plant via these huge ass transporters:





each of these units, there are 2, weigh in at 510 tons each and are traveling at 3 miles per hour.

Ahhh.. A little bit of PVC tubing, some bondo, and a case of ball bearings and I could make you one of these in a week....

what can you say, it was a french company that made these things...they are nearing the end of a 20 day 75 mile journey from Port Deposit MD to Three Mile Island, Middletown PA.

That's a really neat story.. Can't imagine many of our roads were designed to sustain a 500 ton load. And I definitely hope they don't have many bridges to cross...

510 tons each? That's nearly double the max take-off weight of a Boeing 777!!!

I didn't believe it but I found the fact sheet and you are indeed correct. 845 tons total for the trailer/transport and generator! 30,000+ lbs per axle!
