Default next thing you know, having fun leads to cancer

According to a recently released study, alcohol consumption may increase the risk of cancer for women, but some local women said that the findings will not change their lives.

Researchers at the University of Oxford in Great Britain have released a study that suggests that even one glass of wine with dinner every night could increase the risk of cancer in women.

"It's not going to affect my two beers every other night. I will still continue to do that," Winter Springs resident Carla McKenzie said.

Researchers studied more than one million middle-aged women in the United Kingdom and found that low to moderate consumption of alcohol increased the risk of breast, rectal and liver cancer.

Dr. Sonalee Shroff of Florida Hospital's Cancer Institute said the results are not surprising.

"I think it supports what we as oncologists have been saying all along. You know living a healthy lifestyle really does help reduce the risk of cancer. It supports what we've been preaching," Shroff said.

According to the study, the type of alcohol had no impact on the risk of cancer.

The study suggested that alcohol may account for nearly 13 percent of cancers involving the breast, liver, rectum and parts of the digestive tract.

One woman said the findings will not change the way she lives her life.

"Life is too short. There is always something out there to get you. Eat, drink and be merry I always say," DeBary resident Barrie Freeman said.

Freeman said the results will not make her modify her drinking habits.

Previous studies have found that drinking moderate amounts of alcohol is good for heart health; however some experts said the risk for cancer associated with alcohol may outweigh the potential cardiovascular benefits.

studies have shown that in 100% of breast and rectum cancer cases, the patients have been sleeping an average of 6 hours per night. therefore, we have concluded that sleeping causes cancer

if you don't want cancer don't eat or drink, don't sleep, don't blink your eyes, and don't listen to kenny g or michel bolton,

if you want cancer have fun drive your s, smoke cigs and Mary J, drink all day and all night, listen to speed metal, watch tv as much as you can, and curse out a big black guy

if the second list doesn't get you the cancer probaly will

my dad didn't smoke, or drink (except on rare occasions) and was in perfect health when he got cancer.

f' these stupid studies. totally meaningless. i know, how about instead of finding stupid correlations between doing X and getting cancer we try finding a cure for it that doesn't involve chemo or radiation?

i look at it like this, do whatever the hell you want in life when i die i don't want people to look into my coffin and say damn he looks good
i want them to look in and say sumbitch he looks like he lived his life
