Default Nightmares

I was having a conversation with someone the other day about nightmares and thought it might make an interesting thread. I have very few dreams that I remember and have a legit nightmare about every 5 or six years. I only have the same recurring theme that in my dreams that my teeth are falling out, which I have read is a common dream theme and it symbolizes a feeling of having no control over your life. Disconcerting but not scary. The thing is, I am an adrenaline junky and actually like nightmares. The feeling of waking up in the middle of the night all freaked out is kind of a rush.

But since I never have any perhaps others might want to post some nightmare stories, or list if they kind of like them too. But perhaps I am freak for thinking that they are cool.

I've had that dream about my teeth too, but Ithought it was just because of the orthodontic work that was done on me??? How was it analyzed to not have control over your life??

The last "nightmare" I had was when I was 6-8ish. I was being chased by a wolf in a forest that jumped out of my chest of drawers. I either woke up or the dream sequence changed before the wolf ever caught me.

Weird, i haven't thought about that in years.

Geez, pretty big lack of nightmares in the S2000 crowd. The whole teeth thing for me, at least in the dreams I have is that one start coming loose and I am trying to push it back in, and another one feels loose, and another and I am trying to push them in put to no avail. Feeling of total loss of control.

The only really good nightmare I remember I had ten years ago. I was walking past this motel that I had seen on a trip to Jamaica, and there was a huge satanic cult crowd chanting some wierd crap and dancing around. (they look kind of like the pagans from that lousy Dragnet movie with Hanks and Akroyd) I saw my girlfriend at the time laying on this altar, and some satanic priest comes out of one of the motel rooms, you can't see his face behind this creepy mask, and he starts toward the altar and my girlfriend and the crowd is chanting even louder.

The priesty guy then proceeds to mount my girlfriend and go to town and I try to get through the crowd to her. Before I get there he is all finished and he steps away (I guess he was just into quikies) and my girlfriend's stomach starts to expand a la "alien" to the point where she look like she is 8 months pregnant in a matter of seconds. At this point some other masked figures come out with these odd looking sharp tools and start doing this wierd abortion procedure and pulling bloody hunks of something from her nether regions. The whole time, she is writhing around like she is having the orgasm of her life.

When the masked figures are done and throwing these bloody pieces out into the crowd, I am able to pull her off of the table and try to get her out of there. She is resisting and pulling back towards the altar because she wants to go through the whole ceremony again. As I struggle with her, the masked abortion dudes come at me with the sharp tools and start to shred me up. Then I wake up.

Pretty twisted huh? I woke up a little unsettled that evening, but have not had a real good nightmare since.

My lady occasionally has night-terrors. That is when she is dreaming, wakes up (not really) and thinks that it is real. She talks and everything. Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night to her screaming and trying to get out of bed to run around the room. Man, the first time that happened, I started screaming. It wasn't funny then but now I LMAO when I think about it. I was 1/2 asleep when she started screaming and I grabbed her and did the same for about 5 seconds and then realized that nothing was going on. I was living with a friend that thought we were getting killed or something. He ran downstairs and outside to see what was going on. He had a baseball bat in his hands.. haha. Now, when she starts, I instantly calm her down and show her that nothing is going on.. Freaky sh#t!!

Cool, I bet she is glad you are understanding. I get the same thing, but it is my dog that has the night terrors. He wakes up with a wolf like howl just out of nowhere and it is a pretty big rush to be awakened like that and get your heart back into your chest.
