Duh, the blackout a few weeks ago was from the martians coming to invade while the planets were close together...they didn't want to come on the 27th because they knew we'd be looking for them. The earthquake was from Martians that already landed on the planet, so indirectly yes, it is from the planets being close, but not due to an effect of gravity. That is just plain absurd.

And you're a moron to think I was serious. I was just saying there is no correlation to earth quakes and mars. The moon and the sun have more pull than anything and they just cause the tides to change. As for my astronomy knowledge, hummmmm....I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering so I must have taken three physics classes. I also have a 12" Meade LX200GPS. I bet I can name most the stars in the sky I see, and I know what planets are in the sky at night in any given month. You need to chill out and shut up fool.

Sam---no offense intended, but i am skeptical that you understand the significance of the influence of other celestial bodies, regardless of whether you know your Meade from Uranus. "...just cause the tides to change." Yeah, "just."

Sorry to step on your toes there big guy. I'm willing to accept that you put your words down humorously. Put your tin foil back on and go polish your 12" optic so the rest of us can get back to work protecting you and your kind from alien invasions the scale of which will never be fully understood.

There is no protection from Alien invasion sir, if such a thing is attempted it will undoubtedly succeed given the technology it would take to even participate in such an endeavor.

But... we got our germs!

If that fails, all we have to do is what Jeff Goldblum did:

Hook up a Mac to the alien network and upload a virus!
