No good deed goes unpunished
Last weekend while I was out running errands, I noticed some high school kids having a car wash for "Habitat for Humanity". I had some time so I wipped in and let them wash my CRV. Figured I'd give them ten bucks and that would cover me for the good deed of the day.
They did a pretty good job with the washing. The bad part came as they were drying it. I just happened to look at one of the happy workers as she dropped the towel on the ground, picked it up and proceeded to give me a whole bunch of swirls and scratches on my poor black CRV. D'oH!
I would never let them near the S2000 but I didn't think they could screw the CRV up that bad. I guess that's what I get for being a nice guy.

both sides of the story.......
1- i had the local idiot highschoolers attempt to clean my typhoon.... no real attempt to dry except the parent who was doing the windows... i told her to skip it as the entire truck needed rewashed...she looked at it and agreed... i left after making a $6 gift...luckily no damage done to the truck though!
2 - i helped a lukemia car wash about 3 weeks ago... we were very carefull, and when I arrived, we started drying the cars (what the hell were the thinking not drying the cars!). the "donations" all the sudden went from $5 to $10-$20 when I made sure all the bugs came off the hood, everything was dried, no scratches etc........
Lesson- we did a great job and got big $. those idiot lazy highschoolers did a horrible job and i will never go back.

this thread sort of ties in with my "parents these days suck". The kids are all lazy, don't care (especially don't care about your car), don't pay attention, etc....
If parents would maybe make their kids responsible for something, maybe they would gain some common sense that a towel filled with rocks will probably scratch the paint.
off soapbox
