no more F1 in 2008?
i am reading Evo magezine, rumor about a group manufacturers ( at least Fiat, Daimler-Chrysler, Bmw, and Ford are in)is going to set up a race replace F1 after the 2007, year of the Concorde agreement expire.
those manufacturer form a new company name GPWC, Paulo Cantarella (Fiat boss) as the President, Jurgen Hubbert (Daimler-Chrysler) as VP.
reason is because they want more control over the revenue raised in order to protect their huge inverstment.
Do you guys think Ecclestone' F1 company will going down like CART did?
And most important will Honda join the new race?

I kinda hope this means the end of F1. I don't hate F1, it's just that everything seems so controlled, contrived, and antiseptic, making for a boring sport. The endless parade laps are the least of the problems in my view. Racing is an opportunity for technology and strategy to overcome the inherent messiness of racing-- but the strict rules and hygienic tracks of F1 has turned the sport into a paradise for the obsessive-compulsive. I don't feel comfortable watching it on TV unless I've washed my hands. I wonder if Bernie squirms in his seat when a car blows a gasket and soils the track with oil.
On another note, I'm not particularly fond of the sense of entitlement and arrogance billowing from the elite of the whole scene. Maybe it's a European thing that I don't understand. For example, I thought Bobby Rahal was doing a great job, but he got ousted like last night's turd. But like a true professional, Bobby kept to the high ground until the end. Oh well, F1's loss will be CART's gain.
As an American, I love the seemingly reckless swagger of a true professional who has it altogether but wears a badge of individuality on his sleeve. On the other hand, I loathe cold, calculating arrogance--a trait that seems to be in vogue in the sport. If it wasn't for personalities like JPM, I think the sport would collapse merely from the weight of self-centered ego.
