Default No More Links in your threads

I'm going to get flamed for this, but I don't care. I am tired of opening interesting looking threads and finding a link that either:
1. doesn't work
2. goes to a site that requires another search to find the item the poster was referring to, (maybe not finding it) or
3. you have to download something that takes forever and then my computer says I don't have the program to run it.

I find #3 a lot, even though my home and office computers are fast (one DSL, the other not) and have a lot of software tucked inside.

I'm not savy enough to say what the answer is, but the more info you can put in your thread without making the reader go searching elsewhere, would be appreciated. And if you need a link to a video, etc. make sure it can be played by the most commonly found programs.

Are there other frustrated people out there, or am I alone in this? No Joking either.

I'd be willing to bet that not many people are behind you.
I see what your saying, but why say no links? if its a hassle for you don't click on them, Others like myself if bored enough will click on them, and I have come across many gems thanks to the members posting links.

How about I give you this, If you're gonna post a link, make it as dummy proof as possable, so that everyone can enjoy it.

Sometimes the link will work,

and then the site gets shut down for some reason.
I don't think anyone is posting something that didn't at one time exist.

Some of these posts are only a few hours old,

However due to that site recieving thousands of viewsm
the free site is shut down due to excessive bandwidth or
using to many megs.

Sometimes, Not everyone,
can see everything.

Ahh. The Internet

{thought -DO I feel bad about not posting a link that is bad just to get you going }

The internet is a minefield of dead links, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Usually that is caused by not having the right codec to decompress the video half of the file. It can be easily remedied.
