No Problem
I don't find the "no problem" reply offensive. My peeve is the "yup" response (may be limited to greater Boston). This is given after the afore mentioned thank you and also as a reply to an "excuse me". I was in a restaurant and excused myself by someone who would not step aside to let me pass (in the main hallway) and the reply was, you guessed it, "yup".
Makes the no problem thing seem like its straight out of Miss Manners.

What's worse is when you hold the door for someone and they say nothing. I always say "you're welcome" in a loud voice with an irritated tone. I think people have just forgotten common courtesy, particularly on the road.
