I was at the Takanezawa plant @ Tochigi in 2001. They didn't let us take pictures inside though.

Yummy!

Wow, I didn't realize the engine/tranny would look so LARGE on its own. I get the feeling that if Honda applied Accord construction techniques to the NSX, they could make one with just as much performance for significantly less money... It'd have a lower level of finishing of course, but I wonder if anybody could atually tell without taking it apart?

PeaceLove&S2K, did you go as part of the club outing?

The NSX is assembled in a lab! I remember reading Road and Track a few years ago where one of the writers went to the Tochigi plant and he commented that the NSX was constructed with far more handmade precision that the factory at Maranello. He could make that comparison because he'd been to BOTH places! It may be overpriced, but it's still a badASS ride. I'll take one anyday!
