Now it's illegal to video cops!

Interesting.

I'd love to have a video camera on board that could be activated at the flip of a switch and concealed just for the heck of it. The cheapest system I saw was for $300.

Not too bad but I wonder if a $100 digital camera can be modified to suit this purpose.........

The ACLU has already stated that they will take care of this issue. They say they're looking for the right case to bring. Apparently, the few cases have a bunch of extra issues that make bringing the case to the Supreme Court risky. They want a slam-dunk one to end the issue once and for all.

It's a bit premature to suggest it's illegal to video police at work. For starters, it's a payday for the person arrested for doing so as it's a violation of free speech. Foolish lawyers who fail to bring that up are the problem here, not so much existing law.

Like they need a reason?

Most aren't secure in their manhood or real life so this is their way of getting even.

This better not stand up in court. This is just CYA for bad cops. Good cops shouldn't have any fear of undisclosed surveilance.

Luckily Texas is a one-party notification state for recording, so only one party needs to know (i.e. me) to record.

Unless they charge you with something like "Interfering with the duties of a police officer" or something.
