Off-topic Talk Where overpaid, underworked S2000 owners waste the worst part of their days before the drive home. This forum is for general chit chat and discussions not covered by the other off-topic forums.

Now it's Jetta VR6 vs S2000 on the VWvortex board. Funny read!

Hey people,
Okay, I'll confess. I am just as much of a VW fan as I am that of the S2000. Foremost, there is no way a stock VR6 will take out a S2000. No worries there. Secondly, even the 1.8T is gutless, unless modified substantially. I played with one the other night, and blew him away on three occasions without having to break 5500 rpms (still breaking in my S2K)
I do have to say, that a lot of VWs are in fact, very fast. My own A2 G60 Golf should be a pretty good match for the S2000. I like the fact that the gobs of torque the car has enable me to successfully take out the likes of Audis S4 and such. Not to worry folks, I will let the forum know how each car fares against one another once my break in on the S2000 is done!

A lot of those pos(t)ers seem like German car snob wannabes that can't afford BMW's and Porsches. Lots of references to Japanese vs. German and rice. Wonder if they know that most VW's seem to be made outside of Germany these days?

Again, just playing the devil's advocate, I'm sure that most of these folk are aware that their vehicles are made in Mexico (of all places). Just as we know that S2000s are made in Japan, some Civics and Odysseys are built in Canada, and the new CRVs will be built in the UK

Yea reallly, it was great

Also here's another quote..

"s2000
240 hp and 3300 lbs.
I would put money on the s2000."

3300lbs? am I missing something? I talked to the guy and he said the weight was on the inside plates? Just wondering if this is really true.

Ok, I thought I was going crazy. This guy actually thought that was the actual weight of the car without anything in it, I'm pretty irritated by him.

The Jetta has about 60-odd less horsepower and weighs more. No contest! It does have more torque, however.

OMFG That has to be to FUNNIEST thing I have ever read! You really have to wonder about the intelligence of us humans sometimes...but this really takes the cake. I had to re-read some of the things he said to make sure that was exactly what he meant. It just goes to show how far a little bit of jealousy can take you. What a complete twat. Jesus Christ...I'm shivering with complete bewilderment as I don't know how to react to something like that...

What an idiot! I wish I had been at the dealer when he wanted to throw down pinks so I could have me a junker car.
