I'm 90% sure cops in jail are kept separate from general population. they'd die if they ended up in general population and everyone knows it.

Paid vacation for misconduct and police brutality, so who says cops have a hard job?

If anyone without a badge pistol whipped someone, they would be rotting the slammer for 15-20.

So go ahead soapbox idiots, defend the cops here, tell us all how they are justified and should be allowed to get away with this, im waiting!

sure they are. It's called "due process".
"Due process" has 2 completely different processes; one for those with a badge, and another process for those without a badge.

Don't you just love the double standard?

everyone is protected by the Constitution.
if you were accused of a crime, no matter how heinous, you shouldn't lose your job until you're convicted. You should still be allowed to work in the mean time. However, if the accusation conflicts with the nature of your work then the prudent thing to do is to take you off work until the matter is resolved to prevent further danger to the public.
it's not double standard.
if a mailman is accused of stealing mail, I'm sure that post office will not allow him to work with mail until things are "sorted out" (he he he).

it's not a perfect system but it's better than the alternative. If you disagree, you're welcome to start a process to change it. If enough folks want this, the law CAN be changed. that's the beauty of the Constitution.

yes due process should be followed, but the difference here is that they have paid time off for the offense. Why are they getting paid? They aren't working! Is it mandatory for every officer to misbehave once a year to use up their "paid administrative leave" since it doesn't carry over to the next year?
