Default The Offspring

I put on a show today for a four-year-old's birthday party.

Unbeknownst to me (before the show, at least), his father is one of the members of The Offspring. His wife had hired me so I didn't make the connection till we met at the party.

After we got home, my wife phoned my daughter to tell her. Her response: "That's cool!"

I used to listen to them back in 10th grade (98-99) and had a bunch of their CD's. Good group but their music got a bit repetative and I tired quickly of it.

I also listened to the Offspring in high school...but I was in grade 11 in '91/'92. First song I heard was "Session" on a skateboard video and loved it. Damn thanks. Now I feel old.

Cool. Somebody said they are smart too and that is very true of the lead singer. I read somewhere he holds a masters in Microbiology, not bad for a white guy indeed.

At least he has something to fall back on when the limelight fades. You probably wont be seeing him crying about having no job or money on the next episode of "Behind the Music"
