I know its not a popular thing to say here(seems as though we have many open wheel snobs around 
) but ............
I am a Nascar junky
....... have been for a dozen years or so. I usually attend several races a year and feel it is the best racing in the states.
Who else is with me?
Its ok to come out of the closet... there is strength in numbers
So stop picking on my southern buddies
The driver I cheer for and have t-shirts of ( only worn at races

Jimmy spencer is from berwick which is about 80 miles from me. Apparently he used to drive "dirty" back in his local racing years, and got banned from some of the local tracks....(so the factory workers at my old job told me).

correct Scot.... Jimmy is from Berwick. And he is an agressive driver still.... not dirty

I wish I liked Round-e-round racing because ITS ALL THEY EVER SHOW except for speedvision!
But I do find it oh so boring... And thats from someone who loves just about every other form of auto/moto racing!

it's boring because the rules favour just a couple of car types - they all look and drive identically.
Touring cars (race car based on road cars) is very popular in Europe and very competitive - even with maybe 6 or 7 car types coming from different countries.....the rules are more open and the technology is closer to F1 standards.
When will they use some technology in Nascar - it just reminds me of a 70's film with Burt Reynolds...open face helmet - and a big smile.

Theres a couple of things that bothers me about NASCAR. They call them stock cars, but they are anything but. FI isn't allowed only carbs. All their races are in circles.
I love cars, professional racing to me is awesome, but NASCAR doesn't move me.

NASCAR would be more exciting if they had more road courses. All lefts and no rights= boring.
I only watch it if my other choices are WNBA or soccer- a sport which I hear is very popular in England and other third-world countries.
