Default Old License Plates

Does anyone have a lead where I can find expired license plates from around the country?

Want to decorate my old farm style garage with them.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,
SOOF

If you ever make it to the City, check out the flea markets on the weekends. I remember the one on 77th/Columbus had a guy who had a bunch of them. Good luck.

Steal them from an "Authentic themed eatery" like "Chilli's" or whatever you guys have in NJ.

Look at "Antique Malls" they usually have several boothes with a bin full of plates.

[geek hat on]

a good start would be http://www.alpca.org/

other than that - EBAY

Prices on there will be a lot cheaper than if you went to regular trading sites on the net. You might struggle to find some of the rarer dates/plates. Took me a good couple of months and a hundred or so emails to track down my excellent condition 1911 IL plate (the first year ever issued in IL and still with original paint!). Be prepared to drop some serious ca$h for the older ones too.

If i remember when I get home, Ill take some pics of my collections and post them up.
