I hate France as much as the next guy, but seriously, that was as close as it gets. The only reason the Frenchies should hang their heads in shame is for the talk, not the perfomance.

I thought they said on the tube that even the fifth place finisher broke the old world record.

I watched it last night and it was just amazing. The whole time I was thinking, "darn the US looks like it's going to lose, we are just falling more and more behind." And then in the very last stretch the American swimmer must have punched the nitrous or something because he just zoomed by. The poor trash talking French were so disappointed.

What all these olympic atheletes are doing is just amazing. One world record broken after another. The human race just keeps pushing itself further.

You should be able to see it on NBCOlympics.com.

More specifically, the swimming videos are HERE. You're interested in the one labeled 'US Men win 4x100m free relay.' You may need to download SilverLight to view (easy to do).

Edit: And a great article on why this particular race was so phenomenal - HERE.
I was watching air rifle and badminton last night at 1:30 am

Yah, amazing race. My fiance and I were yelling at the tv. GO! GO! COME ON!!!!

haha.

The fact that 5 teams broke the old WR is rather amazing in itself.

It was certainly a great race, but honestly it pales in comparison to this from Sydney in 2004 IMO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woYG6Uq6OVU
